IASBO Conference a Networking Success
Peoria IL June 28th, 2012 – Technology has made its way into every corner
of our day to day lives; at home, at the office, and even in the classroom.
Education is one of the largest industry partnerships for COTG, servicing nearly
one-hundred and thirty school districts around Chicago. COTG concentrates on providing
new technologies to market to schools, giving children in the area unique learning
tools to further their knowledge of the world around them. At "Peoria Redefined,"
the 61st Annual Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO)
Conference and Exhibitions, COTG occupied two booths to showcase a variety of technologies
for the classroom, the weekend of May 16th 2012 at the Peoria Civic Center.
IASBO is an organization that supports school business management and administration,
and offers many benefits for their members ranging from job placement assistance
to conferences such as this. The purpose of this particular event was to bring relevant
vendors and professionals to the education community.
Ashley Lockard, Bernie Potkanowicz, and Michael Carmine, all Solution Specialists
from COTG's Education Team, were on point to showcase not only COTG's SMART portfolio
but also COTG's Xerox portfolio to potential new clients. Smart Board Satellite
Units, Student Response Clickers, and Netbook Tablets were some of the educator-favorite
highlights from the COTG exhibit.
"The biggest goal was networking," said Potkanowicz. "The education world is so
close-knit, so we were trying to leverage the clients we have already been working
