COTG EMPLOYEES COMPLETE FIRST AID & CPR/AED TRAINING
Bolingbrook, Illinois – June 24, 2013 – Emergencies can happen
in the workplace at any time. According to the most recent report from the Bureau
of Labor Statistics, 3 million nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses were reported
by private industry employers in 2011. Having individuals trained and prepared to
handle these incidents within the office is crucial. As part of COTG’s Quarterly
Volunteer Program for the second quarter, fifteen COTG employees recently received
their First Aid & CPR/AED certification through the American Red Cross.
On Thursday, June 20th, a group of employees representing all four of COTG’s current
office locations gathered together for a five hour training course for First Aid
& CPR/AED certification. Throughout the course, participants discussed different
emergency scenarios and the best response tactics for those situations. Several
different hands on techniques and training tactics were practiced for both CPR and
AED training, as well. Upon completion, each employee received their two year certification
for First Aid & CPR/AED, enabling them to assist co-workers in the case of an emergency.
